Hawaii post 6 - Pearl Harbor

When the cruise ship got back to port in Honolulu, Gramps set up a tour bus to pick us up and take us to Pearl Harbor. I didn't really know the history and everything behind Pearl Harbor, but Daddy filled me in. I don't think it was nice to Japan to do what they did to all those sailors. Daddy told me that I need to be on my best behavior and not to be too loud when we got to the Memorial.

We there and they showed us a movie about what had happened. I was feeling a little tired when the movie was going on. After the movie we got on another boat and it took us out to the Memorial. The building was a beautiful white building that stood over top of the U.S.S. Arizona. The boat was below us and we could look down at it. I did a good job at staying quiet and just taking it all in. I don't know if I am going to remember a lot about it when I get older, but it was nice of Gramps to take us there.

After we left Pearl Harbor, we went to the old Dole Pineapple Plantation and then by North Shore. The Dole Plantation was cool we got to ride a train (the Pineapple Express) through out the premises. There are a number of different pineapples that come in different shapes, sizes, and colors. That night we went to the airport and took a red-eye back home. It was a long day getting off the ship, going to Pearl Harbor, Dole Plantation, North Shore and then flying home. I was happy to get home and see my doggies.

Hawaii was great fun. Nana and Gramps planned a great trip. It was fun seeing the whole family, hopefully I can see them again soon. These are the last of the pictures from Hawaii, but like I said before they are all on the webshots page. Thanks for reading everyone. I hope you enjoyed everything and enjoy the pictures.

Jeremy

That's what I would look like if I were a sailor. I like playing dress up.

There was a wall that had all the fallen soldiers names, this as the quote in the middle.

Hawaii post 5

Our second day on Kaua'i Mommy and Daddy again left me with Sydney and Nana and they went on an ATV tour. Since neither Mommy or Daddy are here I will have to tell their story based on what they told me and the pictures that they took. Which I was only able to get a few of them here in this blog post, the rest are on the webshots page.

Mommy and Daddy went with half the group to a ranch in for their ride. It was raining when they left the ship, so they got pretty wet on their ride. Daddy was really dirty when they got back, he said that he was the last in the group and everyone tired to get him dirty. They went around a ranch, up and down hills, and by water falls. They said that they went by a place where Indiana Jones was filmed. I don't know what that is, but Daddy was excited about it. I included a few pictures below of the group before they went out and then afterwards as well as a picture of one of the water falls.

The last day of the cruise saw us go past the prettiest island. It was really green and very hilly. Mommy told me that Jurassic Park was filmed in that area. I haven't seen that movie either, but she said it was the part where they are flying into the island on the helicopter. When I get older I will have to check out that movie. I include some of those pictures as well, maybe you know what part of Jurassic Park Mommy is talking about.

Next post will be about Pearl Harbor and may be the last one.

Jeremy

The after picture, Daddy is kind of hiding, but he was really dirty.

This is where Jurassic Park was filmed. Daddy got a good picture with the rainbow and everything.

Just me doing, what I do. Smiling and having a good time.

Hawaii post 4

Mommy and the rest of the ladies had their outing on the trip when we got to Kaua'i. They were going zip lining. I have asked Mommy to write about it, so she can fill you in on all the fun. I spent the day with Daddy, Uncle Brian, and Cousin Drake. We found a nice little beach and spent the morning there while Mommy was gone. It was fun playing in the water and splashing Daddy. Here is Mommy, she is going to tell you about the rain forest and zip lining.

Hey everyone! Well, the zip lining adventure was great. Definitely something I'd do again. When we got to the place we were all fitted for harnesses and safety gear, and then it was about a 10 minute ride out to the first line. We had a short briefing on safety and then off we went! We completed 7 lines in all, each one longer and faster than the last. It was awesome. We had one guide at the beginning of the line to hook us up and then one at the end of the line to catch us and unhook us. One of the lines is actually the second tallest in the world, behind one in Alaska, so that was pretty cool. Check out the rest of the zip line tour pics on the Webshots page!

Mommy is not as long winded as Daddy is. Thank you Mommy for keeping it short and to the point. There are still more posts to come with more pictures.

Jeremy

All the ladies getting ready to zip line. Aunt Dyan, Mommy, Aunt Robin, Cousin Sydney, Nana, and Aunt Eryn.

Part of the course Mommy got to zip through.

Mommy looks scared, but she said that she was screaming to scare the other people waiting. Not sure if I believe her.

More of the area that Mommy and the ladies played in.

Nana on the zip line. She said she had a great time.

Mommy and Daddy took a helicopter tour when we got ton the city Hilo. I was unable to go since I am not big enough yet, but was lucky enough to hang out with cousin Sydney and Nana. So I asked Daddy if he could write the rest of this entry to tell you about the helicopter ride. Don't worry I'll proof read and spell check his writing. I don't want him messing up my blog.

Sara and I were excited about taking a helicopter ride around Hilo. We were going to head up the volcano, over by the ocean, and see some of the rain forests and waterfalls. Neither of us knew what to expect, we were told it was like riding a magic carpet. And since we all know what a magic carpet feels like, we could relate.

Our helicopter pilot took us first over the Mauna Loa Macadamia nut farm and then proceeded to the volcano. We flew up Kilauea Caldera and was able to look inside Kilauea as she was pouring out smoke. After that we headed out towards the ocean where we were told the lava was pouring out. As we headed that way, our pilot and tour guide flew us over a subdivision that was being wiped out by lava and fire. He told us the lava had been flowing that way for only a few weeks, but had done a lot of damage.

The subdivision was like a scene out of National Geographics. There were houses that were burnt, trees on fire, and lava flowing on the street. This was going on not too far from the ocean, which was where we were headed next. Lava was flowing into the ocean and smoke was filling the air. The beaches were black, you could see how far out the boiling water went into the ocean. It was truly the best part of the tour. Sara got a great picture of it which Jeremy has added below.

After a couple of passes around the ocean we went into the rain forest and the waterfalls. It was pretty spectacular to see all the waterfalls. There must have been hundreds in just the small stretch that we flew though. Pretty neat to go from a lava field to rain forest. One last interesting fact then I will turn it back over to Jeremy. Our tour guide told us that the next time there is a big eruption there is a good chance that the city of Hilo would be wiped out by the lava flow. People know this yet continue to live there and move there. Thanks for reading, here is Jeremy.

Thanks Daddy. That night we left port en route to our next stop and we passed by the lava flowing into the ocean like Daddy had talked about. It was pitch black so we were able to see the bright orange hitting the ocean water. You could see the steam raising up and at time it would block out the orange glow.

Enough for this entry, enjoy the pictures belows. The next one will be about Mommy and the ladies on their zip line fun though the jungle.

Jeremy

Hawaii post 2

It was a long day when we got on the boat. I don't remember getting on the boat, as I was sleeping pretty good. But when I woke up, I was on the biggest boat I have ever seen before. I didn't know that they made things that big to go out into the water. We need to get one of those for our pool at home. We had a really nice room on the ship that had a balcony and look out the back of the boat. Mommy and Daddy took me around the boat to check things out and they had a lot of fun things to do.

We left that night and headed out to Oahu. It was little tough getting use to the rocking of the boat. It did help me fall asleep though, but tougher when I practiced my sitting up. Oahu was a pretty island. There were mountains in the distance that Mommy told me erupted with lava sometimes. Since Mommy knows all about rocks she was able to tell me all about volcanoes and lava and everything.

Daddy left us on one of the first days and went golfing with all of the guys. I know that Daddy isn't a big golfer, but he told me that he did pretty good and had a great time hanging out with my uncles and grandpa. That night we had a family dinner to celebrate cousin Sydney's graduation. I did not include any of those pictures, but if you want to see me rocking a Hawaiian shirt, check it out on webshots.

Mommy started to feed me big boy food on the cruise. And I found out that I really love bananas. Every morning Mommy would get me Cheerios and bananas and I would eat them. I also like Fruit Loops, french fries, pulled pork, chicken nuggets, ice cream, and Mac 'n' Cheese. I included some pictures of me and my banana.

More to come on the next post including pictures from Mommy and Daddy's helicopter ride.

Jeremy

Getting ready to board the ship, Cousin Drake was pushing both Cousin Max and I. We were passed out from the long day.

Just some of the beauty that is Hawaii.

Hawaii post 1

This is going to be the first entry in a series of many. I would like to get as many pictures on here for you guys as I can, and can only fit about 5 pictures per entry. If you want to see all the pictures, check out webshots, where Daddy has posted all the pictures.

These first set of pictures were taken as we got to the airport and then spent the first night in Honolulu. It was an early morning for us the day we left. Mommy got me up around 3am and we drove to the Phoenix Airport. I was able to wear my pajamas in the airport and for the first flight. I have some pretty rocking PJ's.

Everyone seemed a little tired at the airport, I guess they are not use to getting up to so early. I am not using to getting up that early, but I was pretty excited that we were heading to Hawaii so I was ready to go. We flew to Los Angeles and then on to Honolulu. The plane ride was long, but Mommy and Daddy took great care of me and it seemed to go by quicker than expected.

We got to Honolulu and stayed a hotel the night before the our cruise left. It was a nice hotel with a great view of the ocean. I thought it was a really big pool, but when Daddy took me in it I realized it wasn't the same. The water tasted a little salty and stung my eyes. I still had a great time splashing already with Daddy.

The weather was warm, I got pretty sweaty and sticky though. It was really different then Tucson is, and I liked it. The sound of the ocean was great when I was going to bed. You'll see below, but Mommy and Daddy took a pretty embarrassing picture of me when I was sleeping.

Check out the next post for pictures from getting on the cruise.

Jeremy

I love the ocean!!

Not sure why Mommy and Daddy think this is funny.

View of the ocean and bay outside of our hotel room. Beautiful view.

Mommy and I, excited to be in the Honolulu airport. Just waiting for our bags.

Daddy and I hanging out in Phoenix wait for our flight to LA. Check out my PJs.

We got home from our trip to Hawaii today. We had a great time. It was fun hanging with the family and see the different islands. I am tired though and am headed to bed. Daddy did upload the picture onto webshots, so check them out. I will write tomorrow about the trip and include pictures.

I know that it has been a while, and I apologize for not writing. Actually I am writing this blog entry to let you know it will be a while until I write my next one. I have been helping Mommy and Daddy get ready for our big vacation. We are getting ready to head to Hawaii on Friday. But I have been helping them get ready for the past week plus.

So while I have been out and about with them running errands, I really don't have any fun pictures or cool stories. But I can guarantee that when we get back from Hawaii I will have a ton of pictures and some good stories for sure.

I hope that you are all doing well. Daddy has put all the pictures on the webshots page and he will be posting all of the Hawaii pictures on there too.

Jeremy

Terrific Tuesday

We had a pretty busy day today. Since Mommy and Daddy were both off of work today we were able to spend the whole day together. That hasn't happened on a Tuesday for a while since Daddy has been going into work. The weather is really starting to get warm out, so I have asked Mommy and Daddy if we could spend more time outside.

This morning we went to Sabino Canyon. It is probably one of my favorite places to go. I try to get Mommy or Daddy to take me there at least once a week. Today was great because we were all able to go. This time they remembered to bring the camera. I have attached some picture below, the rest are posted on the webshots page. Once again we saw some deer, that is the third trip I have made that I have seen them. Mommy and Daddy pushed me almost all the way to the end of the canyon, but decided to try around before I got tired and crabby. It started getting warm, and I wanted to get home.

After I took a nap when we got home, Mommy took me out to the pool. She has signed me up for swimming lessons in July and wanted to give me a jump start on training. I love the pool, I had some much fun with Mommy swimming and splashing around. I was able to splash Mommy and Charlie, but also got myself. With the warm weather, the pool water was really warm, it almost felt like a bath. I have added a few pictures below, and again the rest are on websites.

Hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy the pictures.

Jeremy

Pool time!!!

Getting ready to splash Charlie. She likes it.

So much fun.

I was a little tired near the end of the walk, so I decided to take a nap and let Daddy push me out.

Check me out in my pimped out jogging stroller.

Mommy built me a fort so I wouldn't get sunburned.

Don't know how they got this picture, but they took it late at night when I was sleeping.
