Roller Blading Saturday

Today we went Roller Blading again, and this time may have been more fun than the first time. We did remember to bring the camera with us this time and was able to get a lot of good pictures, a lot of good action shots. Just as he did last time we went, Jeremy enjoyed himself. Sara pushed him for half the trip and Robb took him the other half. You could hear Jeremy giggle with excitement as the wind blew through his hair. Again Spirit went with us and is doing a better job with his skating and confidence.

We weren't able to post all the pictures on here, but encourage you to go to the webshots page where we have all the roller blading pictures as well as all the other pictures we have taken of Jeremy. Because of all the pictures we started a new file Jeremy 2009. Here is the link http://good-times.webshots.com/album/569501633smlFkN. Skating is great, he sleeps so well when we get home, you'd think that he was the one skating and pushing a stroller. Enjoy the pictures.

Happy Week

Doesn't this picture look like it was taken at Glamour Shots or for the first day of school? Well it wasn't, it was taken by Sara. Such a great picture of Jeremy. So things have been going great here in the desert. The weather has been warm, the family has been healthy, and it has been a few weeks since Robb got home and there is no sign of him leaving town again. Yeah!!!

Jeremy has been doing a great job working on strengthening his neck muscles. He is also working trying to sit up on his own, it is coming along. He has also become very aware of his hands and really enjoys sticking them in his mouth. He almost prefers his fingers over his pacifier now.

Tomorrow we are planning on going roller blading again and promise to bring the camera long to take picture of him. We will post them when we get home so you can see the smile that comes across this face as the wind is blowing though his hair.

It is still a few months away, but the whole family is looking forward to a trip to Hawaii. Robb finally got approval at work to take the time off of work. Jeremy and Sara are excited to go on a vacation, and Hawaii is going to be the perfect spot. We understand that it is still 4-ish months off, but you need something to look forward to, right?

Enjoy this extra picture of Jeremy, with his new favorite toy. All smiles, just like always.

It was a beautiful day in Tucson today, so we decided it would be a great day for Jeremy to spend sometime outside. Sara had been wanting to rollerblade for a while, so today was the day. We called up our good friend Spirit, who had recently bought a pair of rollerblades, and asked if he would like to join us for a trip around a local park. He agreed and off we went. Jeremy had a blast as Sara pushed him in his stroller. The sun in his eyes, the wind blowing through his hair, and a smile on his face. A good time was had by all the family. Sorry, no pictures, we forgot the camera.

Jeremy also recently got a new rainforest swing, that he loves to spend time in. He loves watching the bird move around the top and if they don't keep his attention, he watches TV from his new swing. And the best part is that it rocks him to sleep when he is getting tired. It has a number of songs preset, one of which is a sleepy time music. Great when Sara and Robb are trying to eat dinner together.

Jeremy still has not had a repeat performance of last Sunday when he rolled himself over. He has however started to learn how to blow bubbles with his mouth and will respond to Robb when he makes them. Sara has found a way to make Jeremy giggle, which is addictive for everyone in the room.

Another Roll Over?

So our intentions for this blog was to tell you about how often Jeremy is rolling over, but he has not done it again since his surprise roll on Sunday. It may have had something to do with the Arizona Cardinals winning the big game, or the fact that he was trying to look for his Daddy, or because he really enjoys kicking his feet. But none the less, it has not happened again. We will keep you posted.

So today was the big inauguration of Barack Obama. Sara and Jeremy were very excited to watch all the proceedings today as they wanted to participate in history, but do it from the house. Midway through the all-day process, they fell asleep. They woke up a while later and watched the rest of it. Robb was at work and was not able to watch any of it. He will have to live through history by watching the news clips.

Apologize for the Absence

So we apologize for not updating the blog in 2 weeks. And hopefully this entry isn't too long where you lose interest in reading about the family.

The last time we wrote, Robb was just getting ready to leave for Minneapolis again for 2 weeks. Robb got home yesterday and is glad to be home. In case you haven't been paying attention to the news/weather for the last week, it was incredibly cold up there. Minneapolis had a streak of 84 consecutive hours of below zero degree temperatures. Robb was lucky enough to experience a morning of -22 degrees. Now he remembers why we live in the desert.

While Robb was gone Sara and Jeremy kept busy with odds and ends around the house. They counted the days down waiting for Robb to come home. Through their daily conversations they constantly reminded Robb that the temperature was 70+ degrees. Sara and Jeremy spent a number of days up in Phoenix with Grandma and Grandpa Doubek and really enjoyed their time up there.

But there is some new and very exciting news to report. Earlier today, while laying on the bed watching the Cardinals win the NFC Championship, Jeremy made a big step in his quest to become mobile; he rolled over for the first time! Sara had put him on his stomach and he was turning to look at the TV when he got on his side and surprised all of us by rolling over onto his back. The look of shock on Jeremy's face was quickly replaced by the smiling faces and excitement on Sara and Robb's face. The photo below was take just after his roll over. You can tell that Jeremy is still surprised and Sara is still happy.

Another Last Day with Robb

Robb is leaving the family again to head back up to Minneapolis for another 2 weeks of training with Target. This is his last trip up to he frozen tundra for the last 2 weeks of out of town training. We have been spoiled having him home for the last 2 weeks, but see the light at the end of the tunnel. We know that after this trip, there are no other trips planned so he will be back with us.

So with the new year, we have realized that on webshots there are a lot of pictures to sort though if you want to see the newest pictures. So when you head to websites now there is a different album with pictures from 2009. So that way you do not have to sort though all the old pictures and you can get to the newer picture. We have posted new pictures, so check them out when you have a chance. Here is a link to the new album, http://community.webshots.com/album/569501633smlFkN

This picture was taken shortly after we told Jeremy, Robb was going to be gone for 2 weeks. He wasn't upset, he wasn't happy, but he knew that he was going to be the man of the house and that he was going to have to handle and issues that came up. With his calm demeanor he said, "Have a great trip dad we will see you when you get back. Oh, don't worry about Mom or anything else Dad, I'll take care of it."

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!! We hope that everyone had a safe evening last night and that you celebrated the New Year in a fun and safe way. We really lived it up last night, Jeremy took a nap and we watch Dark Knight, then when Jeremy went to bed at 9:30, we stayed up playing the Nintendo Wii until just before midnight. We saw the new year in and went straight to bed afterwards. Like last year I think we were all in bed by 12:05am.
New Years Day however we had big plans. No we didn't plan on watching College Bowl Games all day, though we did watch a little bit. No, our plans was to watch the NHL Winter Classic between our favorite, the Chicago Blackhawks, live from Wrigley Field. Unfortunately the game did not go as hoped, and the hated Detroit Red Wings beat the Blackhawks. That loss left Robb pretty devastated and upset.
The rest of the day we spent cleaning up, rearranging things, and packing up baby clothes that are now too small for Jeremy. It is hard to believe that he is already growing out of things. Clothes that still have their tags on them, that we never got around to dressing him in. Oh well, guess we will just hang on to them until the next one (don't worry, not another yet, but down the road).
Well we hope this New Year brings everyone great health, fortune, and happiness. We look forward to keeping you updated on our family and our happening in 2009. Until next time.
