Smiles!

There's really not too much to write about tonight, but we did have some exciting news...Jeremy is starting to smile a LOT!!! He smiles at me when I get him out of his crib in the morning and when I talk or sing to him. He was even smiling at the sound of Robb's voice on the computer this evening. Sooooo cute! Enjoy the picture, and of course there's more on Webshots.

Jeremy's First Babysitter

Yesterday was my company's Staff Appreciation Day. Dr. Hurtado took everyone from both clinics out to a nice lunch and then to see the movie "Twilight." The movie was great and everyone had a really nice time. Brooke's husband Doug offered to watch Jeremy so I could go with everyone else from work. They have a 2 year old son, Tyler, so Doug definitely knows what he's doing. I dropped Jeremy off at 1:30 with a full arsenal of formula, diapers, and and extra change of clothes...just in case. Brooke and I got back to their house a little after 7:30 and Jeremy was passed out on Doug's chest. Doug said he did great and was a prince the entire time. That made Mommy happy!

It was nice to get out of the house for the afternoon and have a break from Jeremy, but equally good to see him again at the end of the day. I missed him!

Today we are having a nice, relaxing day around the house. Jeremy is taking a nap right now, but when he wakes up we are going to take the dogs for a walk and then run some errands. We are getting ready for our big trip to Chicago for Thanksgiving. Jeremy is excited to see his Grandma and Grandpa and aunts and uncles and cousins!

Thursday...

Look at that handsome kid!! Today Jeremy and I started the day off with my doctor's appointment. They were running behind so we ended up being there for over an hour and Jeremy was not too happy about it. Lots of fussing and crying, but we got through it. All of the nurses adored him and my doctor said we made a good lookin' kid. Obviously... :) My doctor also said I am all healed and back to normal and ready to pop out another one....haha, just kidding on that last part...

After a rough morning we came home, made lunch, and passed out for a couple hours. It was nice to relax with each other and get a good nap in. Naps are the best part of my day, and I'm pretty sure the dogs and Jeremy would have to agree.

It sounds like Robb is having a good time up in Minneapolis and all is going well up there. We definitely miss him more and more each day and are looking forward to seeing him on Thanksgiving! We get to chat with each other every night so that is nice. I know that the time we are spending apart will go by fast but sometimes it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. At least I have good company in the meantime.
Charlie says hi. She is a good babysitter.

Busy Monday!

Yesterday Jeremy & I took Robb to the airport for his big expedition to the artic north, or Minneapolis in other words. It has definitely been lonely without him here but Jeremy and I are doing well by ourselves. We pretty much just bummed around yesterday trying to catch up on sleep.

Today, however, has been busy! After we woke up, we took the dogs for a walk around the neighborhood. It is a sunny 83 degrees (sorry to rub it in, Robb) and it has been an absolutely beautiful fall day. Jeremy took a nice nap after our walk and I was actually able to get a workout AND a shower in! We also ran some errands at Target and went to my work for awhile so I could get some paperwork/ordering done. All of the clients that got to meet Jeremy today loved him and couldn't believe how calm he was. It was nice to see some of the owners I haven't seen since the beginning of October or even end of September.

Jeremy has been napping for the last couple hours and I have been able to get some things done around the house...laundry, dishes, organizing, taking the trash out, etc. Sounds boring, but I love being productive! :) We are looking forward to hearing from Robb tonight to see how his first day of training went. Until tomorrow...have a good evening. Love from Tucson.

Robb's Last Night

So today is the last day/night that Robb is in town before he heads up to Minnesota. We have spent the day together, since it will be some time since we will all see each other again. Jeremy has been a perfect child tonight, no surprise, not sure he is ready for a period of time away from Daddy. Sara is dreading the morning as she hates to see Robb leave town. Sara knows that he will be home soon, but is always sad when he leaves. Robb is excited to go, excited to start a job, but doesn't want to leave Sara and Jeremy. It may seem like a long time away, but he will be home soon enough.

So far all these blog entries have been about Jeremy, and Dee has started to get a bit jealous of all the attention. So to make her happy I am including her in this blog along with pictures. Hope that make her happy. Enjoy all the pictures. Don't forget to check the webshots website for more pictures of Jeremy, and Dee.

Ladies Man

So Jeremy has been a busy, busy boy the last few days. He has had lunch dates for the last two days. Two of Robb's former co-workers from his last job have been asking to meet the young Jeremy and he cleared his schedule to meet them for lunch. And just like any ladies man, he made sure that he had a date on each day. Both of the women enjoyed meeting Jeremy and showered him with compliments. All of which he took in, because after all he loves compliments.

Yesterday we stopped into Sara's work to see everyone there. While there we weighted Jeremy to see what he is clocking in at these days. At 5 weeks old Jeremy is weighing at 11 pounds 6 ounces. He is growing as he should and is still healthy. He is still rocking the double chin and if you ask him he is in no hurry to get rid of it. He knows the ladies dig the double chin.

Professional Photos at JCPenneys

So this morning Jeremy had an appointment to get professional photos taken at the JCPenneys Portrait Studios. The photographer was great, she had a lot of great ideas and poses. Things were going well, Jeremy was naked and was being supported by both Sara and Robb, when all of a sudden he decided he was going to pee. So in a few of the pictures there was a pool of pee in Sara's hands. Another pose had Sara hold Jeremy up to her chest, again things were going well, until Jeremy decided to throw up down her shirt. Oh yeah, good times at the portrait studio. The pictures actually did turn out great despite the few bodily blunders.

Tonight however Jeremy was hanging out and decided that he wanted to try to stand up. Not on his own, but with the assistance of both Sara and Robb. His legs are getting strong enough to where he can stand up with one of us holding him. Soon enough he will be crawling and then shortly after start walking. We realize that is still months away, but he is doing a great job so far.

Photo Blanket

A few days have past since Jeremy turned 1 month old and he continues to grow and do well. On Sunday Sara had a trial run at handling Jeremy all by herself. Robb was out helping his friend Spirit move into his new house and was gone the whole day. Jeremy and Sara had a good day as they ran errands and enjoyed the day without Robb. Also Sunday, NBC had a TV special about the Paralympics. While the piece was put together well, it failed to mention the USA Women's Team winning the Gold Medal. Robb was disappointed that they were not mentioned, but that seems to be the way.

So we wanted to have a great keepsake of Jeremy. We had received a gift certificate for a place that turns pictures into blankets. We decided that we wanted to have a picture of Jeremy made into a blanket. The blanket was got back was far better than what either of us imagined. Below is a picture of that blanket. A blanket which now makes it home on the family room couch for all to see.

One Month Old

Today we celebrated a big day, Jeremy turned one month old. As you can tell from the picture above, he was surprised to find out it was his one month old too. We took this day to reflect on everything that has happened and he has experienced in his one month alive. He was able to witness the election of the first African-American President, the winning of a World Series (unfortunately not by his favorite team, the Cubs), a televised home Blackhawks game (something no one has seen in many, many years), and his father finally getting a job. He is now an experienced flyer traveling to and from Chicago, he is a great traveler even when running errands, and he knows how to deal with 2 dogs that are always at his side at attention. So here is to you, Jeremy, enjoy the milk and formula. We love you and cannot believe that you have blessed us for a month already.

Nike Sponsorship

So I am not sure if you heard, but Jeremy got his first official sponsor today. We were out and about, you know, doing our thing and we were approached by a representative from Nike. He told us that he has never seen such a good looking baby and would like to have Jeremy rep Nike gear for him. We sat down with the rep and listened to what he had to offer. After hours of negotiating we came up with a great sponsorship deal. As long has he wears a Nike bib when he eats and we take pictures of it and post it on the Internet we have held up our end of the agreement. In return they will supply us with one bib and one pair of shoes. Damn, we got a good deal.

Just kidding Jeremy doesn't have a sponsorship deal, but with a picture like that he should get one.

Lounger

During the day we continued to do work to make the house more Jeremy-friendly. Rearranging some of the things in the family room to allow for Jeremy's loungers. He really enjoys the red rocker that Sara's boss gave to him. Who can blame him, it has a built in vibrating seat. I think everyone would love a lounger like that. Luckily when he is having a rough day a little time in the lounger knocks him right out.

We went for a drive tonight to see where Robb's new job is. The new Target warehouse is about a half hour from the house, south of where we live. It is a nice drive out there, but could be a long drive depending on traffic. We were not able to go in the warehouse, but we have learned that it is over 1 million square feet. Robb should have a lot of fun working there. He leaves for Minnesota in 10 days for training. Sara and Jeremy are not looking forward to that day, but understand it is only temporary.

Lazy Day Tuesday

Today was a lazy day around the house. Sara and Robb were able to get some work done around the house, including some much needed house cleaning. Jeremy slept on the couch and stayed out of the way. Jeremy decided he wanted to dress up today, and choose to wear his polo shirt. He is one sharp dressed man.

We have been posting a few pictures here in this blog, but we have posted all the pictures we have taken of Jeremy on another website. While you have this site saved in your favorite, also save this site in your favorites to see pictures, which are added almost daily. The website is http://good-times.webshots.com/album/568196579iZEknI.

Venturing Out Alone

Today Sara did something she hasn't done yet. She went out with Jeremy to run errands, ALONE. With Robb leaving for Minnesota to train for his new job at Target in about 2 weeks, Sara decided she was going to try to do things on her own. Robb was off helping Spirit move things into his new house, Sara decided she and Jeremy would run some errands. Knowing that Robb was just a phone call away, just in case something happened she bravely ventured out. Just as he has been so far, Jeremy was a little angel while running errands.

We have started to add to his nightly bedtime routine. We have been given some great books as gifts, and have started to read Jeremy bedtime stories after his bath, while he is eating his before bed snack. Though he may not be able to understand the stories, we both have enjoyed some of the stories we remembered from childhood. If anyone has any books we should read, please let us know and we will add that to his book list for bedtime stories.

First Wheelchair Basketball Game

Today we went down to the University of Arizona campus as they were playing host to a wheelchair basketball tournament. Robb's former team, the Phoenix Banner Mercury were in town for the tournament, so we went down to show our support. It was also a chance to see Emily, Robb's former roommate. It was great seeing old friends and watching the game, unfortunate Phoenix could not pull out a win.

Jeremy again was well behaved as we were out and about. He slept at the gym, even when the gym got loud from all the whistles and horns. Tonight we went out to dinner with Emily and again Jeremy slept and was well behaved at the restaurant. It is nice to know that we can go out and he will be great.
